Why World Bee Day is so important.

Find out more about why World Bee Day is so important, and why Lily Charmed is celebrating it.

World bee day is on the 20th May, and its aim is to raise awareness of the importance of bees and beekeeping around the world.

Why bees are so important.

Bees are one of the major pollinators, without which much of our food could not grow. The long-term protection of bees helps reduce poverty and hunger as well as preserving a healthy environment and biodiversity. All bees have become increasingly endangered – so we must all make the effort to love and protect our bees and their environment. Find out more about World Bee Day .

Lily Charmed Loves Bees!

Since our launch in 2011, our Bee Necklace has been a best seller, it was one of the first 10 designs we ever created, because we've always loved bees.

We make our bee jewellery from recycled sterling silver or Gold plated silver, the range has expanded from a necklace to include Bee Stud Earrings, Bee Hook earrings (NEW IN) and a simple bee charm – so that you can always find the perfect bee jewellery to celebrate your love of bees. We even do a rose-gold bee!

Why you should give a Bee as a gift.

  1. Give a Bee Necklace to Queen Bees – All women are the Queen on their birthday, so all birthday girls are Queens for the day.
  2. Give a Bee to Busy Bees – women who are always busy, celebrate them and thank them with Bee jewellery
  3. The Bee is the symbol of Manchester. Give a bee to people with a special connection with Manchester, should be given the honey bee. The Bee represents Manchester’s sense of energy and sense of community.
  4. Give Bee jewellery because it is beautiful and timeless, and will always look elegant – Wearing a bee will also remind you of how important they are to our survival on this planet.
